Choose your own path
The first year of the degree introduces you to the global media landscape, helping you to build industry knowledge and acquire the practical skills needed to create content that impacts its target audience where it matters.
The second and third years of the degree allow you to navigate your own path through the media and creative industries. Optional modules include Creative Video Production, Fandom and Celebrity and Digital Arts and Branding, through to theory-based options such as Film Studies and Psychology of Music. Written by industry experts, these focused modules hone your understanding of specialist media practice, theory and ethics as well as developing key employability skills.

The Final Project module is the centerpiece of your third year. Music Marketing, Media & Communication Course Leader Jerry Thackray holds a PhD in Music Journalism and has been a freelance music critic for over 30 years. He has edited, published and written for numerous magazines and websites in the UK, US and Australia, including Melody Maker, NME, The Guardian, Rolling Stone, MOJO, Classic Rock and Plan B Magazine.
Christine is a music journalist, writer, editor and speaker. She was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and began working in the city's record stores while studying for a degree in Anthropology and English literature. After a couple of years spent in London working for Blackmarket Records and Juno Records, Christine relocated to Berlin over a decade ago.
Jo Kendall teaches Music Journalism and Music Production at BIMM Music Institute London. Jo has nearly 20 years of experience working in the offices of various rock music titles from Kerrang! to Q Online to Classic Rock.
