Sam Broadbent Brokers Record Deal for Trueheights

Music Business undergraduate Sam Broadbent has been reaping the rewards for all his hard work as band manager to Leamington Spa alt’ rockers TrueHeights.

Under the careful guidance of the BIMM Manchester student, the band recently secured a contract with Sony-Red Label ‘We Are Triumphant’ based in LA. What makes this news even more impressive is the fact that Sam only signed TrueHeights to his management company ‘StereoHype Management’ back in September 2017.

Additionally, Sam negotiated a deal with notorious rock booking agents Artery Global for TrueHeights and will be launching his own publishing company, ‘Black Cacti’ in February 2018 with funding he won through BIMM’s funding Scheme.

As if that wasn’t enough, Sam has also been assisting as BIMM Manchester’s Events, Guests and Careers Intern. His role includes support in all areas – admin, events, marketing, creating databases of students interests and music, graphic design etc.

With such a proactive and entrepreneurial attitude towards his work, we’re sure Sam is well on his way to a very promising future in the music industry. As he enters the final year of his Music Business degree, he reflects on his time with us so far.

“The lecturers at BIMM and the Careers team have helped me make some of the hardest decisions I’ve had in music so far. They’ve guided me and provided advice to aid in applications, legal contracts and communication with industry leaders.”

He continued.

“If it wasn’t for BIMM, I wouldn’t have developed the majority of my current working relationships with industry professionals that are now part of my recent successes. A university like this is a rarity and I think if you approach it with an entrepreneurial mindset then BIMM is a goldmine of knowledge.”
