One to Watch – Harvey Causon

10 April, 2018

BIMM Bristol singer/songwriter Harvey Causon has been racking up an impressive list of accolades lately, proving he has the potential to exceed the bubbling industry hype surrounding him and compete as an artist on the world stage.

The video for the young producer and vocalist’s latest single ‘Worn You’ was recently selected to be aired on The Big Screen above Millennium Square, Bristol, for the duration of April, thanks to a collaboration with wethecurious.org.

The glitchy electronic R’n’B anthem, which echoes the likes of James Blake and King Krule, recently gained traction on Radio 1 when it was picked-up by tastemaker, DJ (and friend of BIMM), Huw Stephens, who then featured Harvey’s Maida Vale live session on his show. Since then, the single has also been picked up by BBC Introducing and Jamz Supernova on BBC Radio 1Xtra

As with any music industry phenomenon, good news travels fast, and Harvey has since been the subject of online interviews, surpassed 150 thousand Spotify streams and has ticked-off live support slots with the likes of Puma Blue, Britain’s Got Talent winner (2017) Tokio Myers and fellow Bristolian alt-indie quintet GOAN DOGS. Most recently, Harvey announced an upcoming support slot with high profile Swiss pop troupe KADEBOSTANY.

On the subject of live performances, Harvey also recently announced on his social feeds that he will be appearing at The Great Escape, Brighton, this May. Known for being the UK’s answer to SXSW, the festival is a right of passage for many up and coming acts to get noticed by key players in the UK music industry, who descend on the city for a weekend of live music and industry networking events.

We very much look forward to seeing what else is in store for Harvey throughout 2018 and beyond.
