Introducing BIMM Bristol’s Diploma course patrons
BIMM Bristol recently appointed two brand new Diploma patrons in the form of Songwriting tutor and Lamb vocalist Lou Rhodes and the drum ‘n’ bass legend Kirk Thompson – AKA DJ Krust.
With decades of music industry experience shared between them, Rhodes and Thompson will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise to students studying on any one of BIMM Bristol’s Diploma courses, which are available in the following disciplines:
Songwriting, Bass, Guitar, Drums, Vocals and now Music Production.
Meet the patrons
Lou Rhodes has been front-woman, vocalist and songwriter of electronic duo Lamb since their debut record release in 1996, as well as being a Mercury Prize nominated solo artist in her own right. She has toured throughout the UK, Europe, the US and beyond, making her extremely well-versed as music industry tutor.
DJ Krust is a legend of the UK Jungle and Drum ‘n Bass scene. He has collaborated on and remixed tracks for the likes of the Cinematic Orchestra, Moloko and fellow Jungle music veteran and peer, Roni Size. Having previously hosted a Masterclass on Creativity In Music at BIMM Bristol, the DJ and Producer has already advised students on how to take their music to the next level.

Both DJ Krust and Lou Rhodes will be in attendance at the next Diploma Open Evening on May 9th at BIMM Bristol’s King Square campus, where they’ll meet applicants to offer up valuable tips and advice on how they can get the most from their courses.
