Join Us for a Virtual Tour of BIMM Institute Berlin’s House of Music
Since September, our BIMM Institute Berlin students have been making the most of the state-of-the-art amenities at the college’s brand-new House of Music creative hub. Now, you too can experience the professional music facilities thanks to our virtual tour video.
BIMM Institute Berlin Music Business student Nicole Deckers is your guide for our House of Music college video tour. Take a look around:
Walkthrough the ultra-modern college with Nicole and hear, how she and her fellow students have been using each specific area since House of Music opened at the start of the academic year.
You’ll see our common room, where students study and network; the purpose-built recording studio and acoustically designed live rooms; the fully equipped Mac labs where lessons take place; the drum room fitted with Roland equipment; the large multi-purpose room used for lectures, tutorials and rehearsals (and equipped with a full backline PA); the large live room, which holds Masterclasses and lectures; and the House of Music café and music industry hub. You’ll also hear the background track, ‘Ceres’ by Fulab: one of our talented Music Production students.
It’s clear from the smiling faces in the video that our students have been thoroughly enjoying working, studying and socialising in their new space. Internationally appealing as a creative student’s dream, BIMM Institute Berlin’s students hail from 44 different countries. From Spain to Slovenia, the UK to the US, Finland, Malaysia and, of course, Germany, our students really are a diverse bunch! So, why not come and join us?
A Creative Hub Steeped in History
The building itself is an ex-railway yard situated in the R.A.W area of Berlin, where the city’s two most creative districts – Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg – meet. It has been meticulously renovated, turning a derelict shell into a 2,000m2 modern music hub, with every room astutely purpose-built to cater for the specific needs of students.
We’ve invested in House of Music for our students because it’s Berlin’s creative hub for musicians, companies and organisations from all areas of the music industry. House of Music cultivates a creative community that is perfect for networking with companies such as Yamaha, Shure and MOD Devices also share the hub.
What Does the Future Hold for House of Music?
College Principal, Nick Donovan, says he is very proud of the House of Music space:
“To see our vision of creating a purpose-built music community hub in the heart of vibrant Berlin become a reality has been hugely rewarding. But better still, it’s been massively rewarding watching our students’ creativity flourish when using the professional new facilities and seeing them become part of the city’s unique music community.”
Investment in BIMM Institute Berlin doesn’t stop here, though. We have more House of Music facilities launching very soon. We will continue to expand House of Music resources in the coming years, adding a second recording studio, another large live performance and lecture space, plus further digital resources and Apple Mac labs. So, watch this space – and come and join us!
