Five BIMM Institute students included in 2022 emerging artists lists
We’re super proud of all our students, and we love to see them get the recognition that they deserve. We’ve compiled a list of some of our students and alumni that have been included in various emerging artists for 2022 lists.
LIME GARDEN
Comprising students and graduates from BIMM Institute Brighton, Lime Garden (fka LIME), is one of the most talented groups the underground music scene has to offer. Recently signing to So Young’s record label, the band is going from strength to strength. Their debut singles, ‘Surf N Turf’ and ‘Fever’, cemented the band as a powerhouse that can encapsulate an old-school sound but bring it up-to-date.
Lime Garden have been included in DIY Magazine’s Class of 2022, Dork Magazine’s Hype List and The NME 100.
SIPHO.
Last year BIMM Institute Birmingham student SIPHO. signed with West London-based independent record label Dirty Hit. The multi-instrumentalist and multi-faceted musician is only 21 but has been making music since childhood. His debut album AND GOD SAID… is a dynamic collection of tunes that make up a solid introduction to the man himself.
SIPHO. was named in The NME 100 and The Face Magazine’s Rising Artists 2022.
SPIDER
Big congrats to BIMM Institute London’s SPIDER, an alternative pop artist, songwriter, and producer originally from Dublin. Influenced by the work of electronic pop acts Halsey and Lorde, SPIDER’s music uses loud, sharp synths and catchy guitar riffs, which creates a unique blend of electronic, alternative pop.
SPIDER has been included in The Face Magazine’s Rising Artists 2022 list.
NONÔ
BIMM Institute London graduate Nonô has perfected her brand of pop by fusing elements from her Brazilian heritage with dance music production. At 18 years old, Nonô took a 6,000 mile journey to further her music career and study with us. Nonô will be heading on tour with Example at the start of 2022 and supporting him on all nine dates from his UK tour – including the massive O2 Academy Brixton. Nonô boasts an enormous 1.5 million monthly Spotify listeners, with some of her tracks being streamed over 20 million times.
Nono was included in this year’s NME 100 list.
MIMI WEBB
BIMM Institute London ex-student Mimi Webb has done amazingly well in her career so far. Her debut single, ‘Before I Go’, was used by one of the biggest TikTok influencers on the planet, Charli D’Amelio, who shared the song with her 111.3 million followers. Since then, Webb has signed with Epic Records, gathered an immense 85 million Spotify streams, radio play worldwide, a live performance on The Ellen Show and Top of the Pops, and most recently, a top 10 chart position in the UK Singles Chart.
Mimi Webb finished third in the BBC Sound of 2022 and was named a Vevo DSCVR Artist to Watch.
