BIMM University launches new one-year courses in music and film

We are delighted to announce two new Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE) courses in Music (available at campuses in Berlin and London) and Screen & Film (available in Berlin).

What is a Certificate of Higher Education (CertHE)?

Equivalent to the first year of a bachelor’s degree, our CertHE courses give musicians and filmmakers the opportunity to experience Berlin or London’s world-renowned creative industries without the commitment of a three-year bachelor’s degree course. Over the course of one-year, you’ll become part of your city’s international creative community, making connections that span borders.

Practical and project-based, the CertHE courses put your professional development first. Joining together with first-year students on our BA programmes, you will enjoy engaging lectures and workshops that support you in developing your creative portfolio. As part of this, you will enjoy the same access as students on degree programmes to our professional standard facilities, enabling you to bring their vision to life.

The course will culminate in a Studio Project, which encourages you to engage with real-world creative practices as experienced in the music and film industries today. You can expect to collaborate with students from across our courses, building a network you can rely on during their course and beyond.

If you want to continue studying after successfully completing your CertHE course, you will be able to progress on to a full bachelor’s degree programme, starting from Year 2.

Ultimately, our CertHE courses give you the opportunity to build an international creative network in either Berlin or London, explore potential career paths in music or film, and get hands-on experience in your chosen field as you bring real projects to life.

About CertHE Music

Available at our campuses in London and Berlin, the CertHE Music course offers aspiring performers, songwriters and producers the chance to focus in on their skills, knowledge and musicianship over the course of two semesters. You will join Year 1 students from our Popular Music Performance, Songwriting and Music and Sound Production courses.
