BIMM Music Institute launches its very first business master’s degree
We’re delighted to introduce our brand-new MA Business for the Creative Industries. This innovative master’s course allows students to build business acumen while focusing on the industry they’re most passionate about: film, popular music, performing arts, or video games.
Spanning areas such as finance, law, marketing, project management, sustainability and digital communications, the course is designed to prepare students for a leadership role in their chosen sector.
MA Business for the Creative Industries will be offered in Brighton and Berlin, both of which boast thriving arts scenes. With a wealth of festivals, music venues, galleries, and performance spaces at their fingertips, students are encouraged to fully immerse themselves in the dynamic creative culture these locations offer.
The master’s course is available full-time over one year or part-time over two years, giving students the opportunity to balance their studies with personal commitments.
Dr. Jon Stewart, co-author of the course, describes the programme:
“MA in Business for the Creative Industries is a flexible course designed for creatives looking to earn a business master’s qualification, and business graduates seeking opportunities in the arts and culture sector. Choose your own specialism – screen and film, games, performing arts, music – and study full-time (one year) or part-time (two years) in one of Europe’s most dynamic and forward-thinking cities. BIMM University offers outstanding industry connectivity with unrivalled opportunities for networking and work experience, and this course will be delivered by industry professionals deeply engaged with the creative industries.”
Prof. Mark Irwin, Deputy Provost and Director of Postgraduate Studies, has expressed his excitement about the new course:
“We are delighted to be launching this new master’s degree aimed at those looking to conceive and manage businesses in the creative industries – a sector projected to grow to $3.4 trillion worldwide by 2028 and highlighted in the UK government’s recent industrial strategy. The creative industries are innovative and collaborative, and this course will equip graduates with the skills, knowledge and peer networks required to excel in their chosen profession.”
