BIMM London hosts MA showcase for students and graduates
BIMM Music Institute London threw a party at The Half Moon in Putney to celebrate our amazing MA students and graduates. Featuring live performances alongside industry panels, the event was a huge success.
BIMM London was our first campus to run the MA in Popular Music Practice five years ago. To celebrate this milestone, we wanted to bring our graduates back to join our current students for the festivities. The MA courses in London have attracted international students from all over the globe, as well as plenty of domestic students, so the turnout was amazing, with current students given the chance to learn from and network with graduates.
A number of students who have graduated from our courses have progressed well in the music industry as agents, producers, managers, and engineers, with others forging paths as successful artists, so we hosted two panels to explore these two different journeys in more depth.
We were fortunate enough to have extremely talented students providing the soundtrack for the evening. This included two groups from our current cohort and three made up of graduates:
- CROOKS INC. blend the sounds of 90’s R&B and modern jazz. The group has experience playing established venues such as Brixton Jamm, 02 Academy Islington, Ronnie Scott’s and XOYO.
- Jack Foz combines thought-provoking songwriting with a cheeky London charm that you can’t help but love.
- Milena Galasso is a singer-songwriter who draws upon both her Italian and Serbian heritage to bring a fresh, timeless energy to her brand of pop music.
- Thaïs Ray is originally from Paris. Now based in London, she blends indie pop with neo-soul, folk and even bluesy elements.
- TVP are a dynamic six-piece that delivers a fresh and electrifying sound that offers classic rock and soul with an indie edge.
