BIMM Institute partners with Brighton Music Conference
We’re very excited to announce our brand new partnership with Brighton Music Conference, which will provide unique opportunities to our students across the whole BIMM Group.
Now entering its 9th year, the Brighton Music Conference (BMC) is the UK’s foremost electronic music and networking event for industry professionals and music lovers alike. Returning to Brighton from 25 – 27 May this year, the event will be partly hosted in the iconic British Airways i360 tower. It will focus on getting ‘back to the music’ to inspire, educate and build a stronger industry for everyone.
Over 250 speakers and representatives have already been announced, including BBC Radio 1, Beatport, Cubase, Defected, Glitterbox, He.She.They, Hospital Records, PRS, Sentric Music, Shogun Audio, The Association For Electronic Music, Spinnin Records, Critical, The Night Time Industries Association, Toolroom Records, Ram Records, The Arch, TikTok and many many more.
For 2022 BIMM Institute are proud to share the news that we will be the lead education partner allowing our music production students from Brighton and across the UK to work closely with and learn from everyone at BMC.
What you can expect from this partnership
Among the benefits, all of the students from our electronic music production courses will have access to a free pro ticket pass and there will also be a range of work placement opportunities through the event available to BIMM Brighton students.
Alongside opportunities for our students, we will also be running panels to share BIMM’s knowledge at the conference, one focusing on the power of social media and the other looking at the importance of mental health. In addition, we will also have the privilege of holding a keynote talk.
Electronic Music Production degree patronage
At BIMM Institute we are proud that our courses are connected to and respected by the music industry at large. As part of this new partnership, we are delighted to announce that BMC are putting their weight behind our BA (Hons) Electronic Music Production degree programme by becoming the official patron for our undergraduate degree course in Brighton.
A huge thanks to everyone at BMC for showing their support to our fantastic music production students. As this relationship grows, we know that it will bring real tangible benefits and enhanced connections to our student body.
Billy Mauseth, Director of the Brighton Music Conference, had this to say about the new relationship: “BMC are hugely excited about this new collaboration, truly aligning our professional industry experience and energy into the college, which has been a lifelong passion of ours. BIMM has already achieved so much and we at BMC hope to help further extend its reach. Our industry continues to evolve at a pace, forever bringing new opportunities and emerging technologies. We at BMC are all really looking forward to joining the BIMM family.”
Martin Wright, BIMM Institute Brighton Principal, added: “We have worked alongside the Brighton Music Conference for many years, so this was the logical next step for us to partner up and create even more opportunities for our students to get closer to the industry they have come to study at BIMM Institute Brighton. We are proud to be the lead education provider for BMC, which I am sure will strengthen our links with the local music industry, but also the wider electronic music scene that can only benefit our student network.”
