BIMM Dublin student Success
As 2018 draws to close, we thought we’d reflect on what a successful year our students and alumni from BIMM Dublin have been having. The campus has been at the centre of some incredibly positive stories of late. Read on to find out more.
Le Boom
Recent BIMM Dublin graduates and electronic dance duo Le Boom have had themselves a fantastic year. The band – comprised of Chris Leech and Aimee Mallon – were recently picked as the main support act for alt pop chart-topper ‘Christine & The Queens’ at her show at RDS last month. This high profile booking demonstrates the kind of clout Le Boom are packing on home turf right now.
The news came in the wake of their fourth single ‘Animal’; an absolute banger of a track which holds all the hallmarks of the band’s brilliantly upbeat Indie House sound and received some incredibly positive reviews.
Le Boom will soon complete their first ever headline tour, which has seen them perform in Cork, Bilbao, Killarney, Waterford, Limerick and Galway, as well as a sold out show in their home town of Dublin. To top it all off, the band were among the first acts announced for Donegal’s surf music festival ‘Sea Sessions’ next year, confirming also that they’ll be returning to Indiependence Festival this coming August. Stay up to date with the band via their social media channels, here.

Erica Cody
Commercial Modern Music Vocals graduate Erica Cody has been building on a string of brilliant successes this year with an arena performance during the half time show at the Belfast Basketball Classic at the SSE Arena, Belfast; an event which was broadcast live on American TV.
The young R’n’B songstress was also the recipient of U Magazine’s ’30 under 30 Music Award’ in November, and was confirmed soon after as the main support act for Jessie J’s headline appearance at Dublin’s National Stadium.
Cody has hinted at the impending release of her debut EP in early 2019. Keep an eye on her official Spotify profile to be among the first to hear it.
Æ MAK
Art pop songstress Æ MAK (AKA Aoife McCann) was recently announced to have signed a contract with the Primary Talent International booking agency. There the young artist will be rubbing shoulders with some seriously impressive acts, including the likes of Lana Del Rey, Augustines, Bad Sounds, Basement Jaxx and Daft Punk.
Looking ahead to 2019, Æ MAK has also been confirmed among the acts performing at Indiependance Festival this August alongside the likes of Biffy Clyro, Bastille and Nothing But Thieves.
Keep an eye on her social media channels for updates.
