BIMM Bristol’s new building is looking gorgeous
The first semester this year at BIMM Bristol has been an extra special one as we’ve opened the doors to our striking new building in the heart of the city. Our new Moon Street campus opened its doors back in September, and not only is it looking beautiful, but our students are also loving it as well.
St James’ House is a four-storey, 33,000 square feet building in Stokes Croft. Its proximity to BIMM King Square has allowed us to develop a more substantial presence and community in the Stokes Croft area. This new campus is an ideal home for us and houses two recording studios with live rooms, a glass-fronted DJ booth, a cafe bar, Mac labs, study spaces, edit suites, rehearsal rooms and lecture rooms.
Studio People, the design and construction team, worked directly with Hannah Phipps, College Principal, to develop a new vision for the college that puts the students, staff and local community at the centre of the design. The college makes use of clean, contemporary and industrial design elements whilst also featuring plenty of natural materials. Studio People specialise in creating studio spaces, so not only does the space look amazing, it sounds amazing too.
The upgrade in facilities and equipment supports learning across our single and joint honours courses, including performance, media and marketing, music business, event management, songwriting, music production, and music teaching.
“This project means more to us than just bricks and mortar. BIMM Moon Street is designed for learning and engineered for sound, joy, creativity and connection. We’re proud of our new home and look forward to a great year ahead, making lots of noise!”
