BIMM artists announced for Liverpool Sound City
BIMM’s music festival connections help to provide valuable performance and work-experience opportunities for its students each year. In 2019, our festival outreach program is bigger and better than ever and it all kicks off this May with the brilliant Sound City in Liverpool’s Baltic Triangle.

Sound City is overflowing with incredible talent this year, with headline slots from British R&B sensation Mabel and UK hip hop stalwart Loyle Carner. We’re pleased to announce that more than a few artists on the line-up are performance students hailing from BIMM’s northern-most campus in Manchester.
Here’s just a sample of bands set to grace Liverpool’s biggest annual music event in 2019.

Other BIMM acts appearing on the bill are alternative indie rockers Ballamona and BIMM alumni such as Brighton-based Bella Union signees Penelope Isles and alternative Brit-pop sensation Abbey Ozard.
Experiences behind the scenes
The fantastic opportunities for student involvement at LSC don’t end on-stage. Our collaboration with the festival also provides non-performance students on our Music Business, Event Management and Music Journalism courses the opportunity to gain valuable work experience in the lead-up to the big weekend, with various organisational and administrational internship roles available.
The cherry on the cake? LSC are even offering ‘hands-on roles’ for key student candidates within important areas as the festival unfolds such as Production, Artist/Sponsor Liaison, Marketing/Social Media and Stage Management.
Gaining hands-on experience and establishing real-life connections within the festival circuit can be crucial for students looking to forge a career within live events. BIMM’s ongoing relationship with LSC is just one example of the amazing opportunities our students gain access to during their time with us.
