Katarina Holmberg
Module Leader and Associate Lecturer
Katarina teaches Vocals at BIMM Music Institute Berlin. She is a singer, producer and DJ. She has worked as a session singer for X-Factor and Britain's Got Talent, singing backing vocals there for Beyonce, Westlife, George Michael, Christina Aguilera, Robbie Williams. Other sessions inc. for Michael Ball's Greatest Hits album and recording for Andrew Lloyd Webber.
Under the stage name Tigerlight, she has released records (Ministry of Sound, Night Bass, and more) and toured, including main stages at music festivals such as Glastonbury. She runs a sample pack label distributed by Loopmasters. As a podcast host and producer, she has worked for Beatport, DI.fm, and Groove Magazine's chart show. For BBC 1xtra, she has co-written weekly comedy sketches for the Crissy Cris show and guest co-hosted. As a composer, she has written soundtracks for Arte documentaries. As well as performing, she is passionate about coaching singers and musicians and has been a lecturer (Solent University, Brighton College, BIMM) since graduating from Southampton University with a degree in Jazz and Popular Music.
