Christine Kakaire

Christine is a music journalist, writer, editor and speaker.
She was born and raised in Sydney, Australia, and began working in the city's record stores while studying for a degree in Anthropology and English literature. After a couple of years spent in London working for Blackmarket Records and Juno Records, Christine relocated to Berlin over a decade ago.
Her professional life in the German capital has included working in marketing and content curation for music download platforms Zero and Beatport, before embarking on freelance music journalism full time, across various mediums.
Christine’s writing, editing, podcast hosting and film work has been published by Ableton, Crack, DJ Mag, Groove, Pitchfork, Red Bull Music Academy Resident Advisor, and she has presented and spoken at numerous music conferences and festivals across Europe. She currently serves on the Creative Board of Night Embassy Berlin, is a regional representative for Discogs, and has two book projects in the works.
