Adam Coombs
Senior Lecturer, Music Production *
Adam Coombs has worked in a variety of roles that include orchestral composition for mixed media theatre shows and film-score. His work has been recorded by members of the Welsh National Orchestra and some of his personal works have been performed live at Southbank Centre as part of the Park Lane Group's initiative to bring conservatoire performers together with composers.
He was also MD and conductor for his collaboratively written show called 'The Russian Winter' which sold out over its several night run at Colston Hall Bristol. This involved managing an entire orchestra and the scoring duties that come with this type of project. The work has since been developed into a radio play with unique help from Bristol Old Vic and potentially could become a theatre show.
Whilst orchestral composition is his main passion he also runs a recording and production studio in Bristol working across many genres of music alongside teaching music production at BIMM Music Institute Bristol. Primarily a pianist, he has toured extensively throughout the world with several bands forging great relationships with pioneers in the industry.
