The Hara are a three-piece that attended BIMM Manchester but studied different courses. Their alternative rock style led them to storm their way through the iTunes album charts with their 2020 releases. Their EP’s Play Dead hit #1 across all genres, and We Are The Movement hit #1 in the rock charts and #2 across all genres.
BBC Introducing, Amazing Radio, Kerrang! and Manchester Evening News quickly picked up on the band, leading to features on Spotify, Apple Music and Amazon Music playlists and live performances at Download, Reading and Leeds, 2000Trees, TRNSMT and Slam Dunk.
Their music is very much written for live performance, which can be heard in the energy and grit that the band explores in their sound, aiming to inspire moshpit carnage in any crowd. Although comprising just three live instruments, THE HARA gives a full live sound through the use of pads, triggers, and stems, emulating thirty instruments whilst on stage.
Their latest EP, We All Wear Black, was released by Manchester-based Scruff of the Neck. We’re hoping it preempts their debut studio album. We’re excited.
