Since completing a BA Hons in Music Business at BIMM London, post-graduate Ryan Brock secured himself a role as a full-time Radio Plugger, working with Brace Yourself PR. The company has an incredibly impressive and eclectic roster of acts including the likes of Mercury Award winner Benjamin Clementine, Cloud Nothings, Gengahr, Gnarwolves, The Japanese House, Pale Waves and Refused.
Ryan looked after a wide range of artists, his previous work includes PR for Latitude Festival, Artist Relations for Marshall Headphones, and working for ARIA Gold award-winning Radio 1 Specialist DJ & Deviation boss, Benji B.
Now, Ryan’s job title is Specialist Radio Promotions Executive at EMI Records. Wow, amazing stuff Ryan!
Here, Ryan reflects on his time at BIMM and how important his lecturers were in helping him get where he is today.
“BIMM was a great facilitator for allowing me to gain greater knowledge of how the music business works. My time at BIMM, apart from studies, was mostly spent attending various music events and building networks with those in the industry. My lecturers were highly supportive in my activeness of making myself known. Without their encouragement and guidance, I wouldn’t have had half the successes I’ve had to date.”
