Natasha Bent
Leading Live Agent - Mother Artists
Graduate Natasha Bent, who studied vocals at BIMM Brighton, made her first steps into the music industry as a backing singer for Carleen Anderson. Now, she runs an artist management and live agency called Mother Artists.
After the chapter she spent as a singer, Natasha decided on a change in career path and started her own business: The Village Agency. She then moved to the Agency Group in London, where she helped manage the careers of artists like IDLES, First Aid Kit, Amy Macdonald, CHVRCHES, Foals, and Cage The Elephant.
With a reputation for business savvy, Natasha featured prominently in Music Week’s Women in Music Roll of Honour, which celebrates 12 of the most important and influential female executives from all areas of the music industry.
She has since joined forces with her brother, Mark, to launch artist management and live agency Mother Artists. Mark heads up the artist management side of proceedings whilst Natasha, the leading agent, takes the reins on the firm’s live division, guiding the likes of Tom Misch, Bombay Bicycle Club, CMAT, Amy Macdonald, Foster the People, Ry X, The Magic Gang, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, The Paper Kites, and Thomas Headon.
She’s come a long way since her days at BIMM, but Brighton’s Music Business course leader Jon Stewart remembers Natasha’s student days: “I taught Tasha in the music business module in her first year. She attended every class and contributed throughout. After she had graduated, she was always happy to come in and talk to new students and assisted those who were looking for help – either in the form of work experience opportunities or performers looking for an agent.”
