Mimi Webb
Artist
Former BIMM Brighton student Mimi Webb boasts 2.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify. Her debut single, ‘Before I Go’, was used by one of the biggest TikTok influencers on the planet, Charli D’Amelio, who shared the song with her 111.3 million followers. Webb has since signed with Epic Records, received radio play worldwide, and landed a top 10 chart position in the UK Singles Chart. Mimi also performed on The Ellen Show with a full live band that included BIMM London graduate Isabel Torres.
Mimi describes her sound as “very big, really emotional music”, which makes sense when looking at the musicians that she cites as her biggest influences: Amy Winehouse, Adele, Sam Smith, and Emeli Sandé. And her vocal style suits her euphoric ballads perfectly, as you can see in ‘Before I Go’. This track was co-written by BIMM Brighton alumnus Sam Merrifield, who has collaborated with the likes of Lewis Capaldi, Zara Larsson, Westlife, Marshmallow, and Ella Henderson.
Mimi’s debut EP, Seven Shades of Heartbreak, garnered much attention when it was released in October 2021. The EP spent four weeks on the UK Albums Chart, with the single ‘Good Without’ peaking at no.8 on the UK Singles Chart.
In the prestigious BBC Sound of 2022 list, which showcases the most exciting rising stars in music, Mimi earned third spot. That same year, she performed at the Platinum Party at the Palace to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
At the 2023 BRIT Awards, she was nominated for Best New Artist, and her first full-length studio album, Amelia, was released a month later via Epic Records. She’s been on the road for much of 2024, touring alongside Benson Boone in the United States and then supporting the Jonas Brothers on the European leg of their tour.
