Kym Thomas

Artist Marketing Representative

BIMM Music Institute Manchester Music Business graduate Kym Thomas has secured a position as Artist Marketing Representative for Black music at Fender.

While at BIMM Music Institute Manchester, Kym started an events company, The Living Room Club. Intending to create a unique concert experience, listeners are welcome to engage with their favourite up-and-coming artist in a more personal way, differing from more traditional concerts. The curated genre-themed evenings offered the aesthetic of a rustic modern living room and created a comfortable and intimate live music listening experience.

With event-promoting experience under her belt, Kym then worked as a music touring assistant for Creative Artist Agency. Here, she honed her skills in communication, event management and organisation. Now, as Artist Marketing Representative for Black music at Fender, she’s able to further support Black people in the music industry.

Kym says: “BIMM was part of the foundation to my success”.

You can find out a little more about Kym in her interview with Alexandra Ampofo for PRS Music here. She’s also written for our blog – you can check out her blog piece, ‘Escapism into freedom and hope through music’ here.
