BIMM London graduate, Izzy Bizu, has ticked off several career goals in a short space of time. It’s testimony to her raw talent and determination. Her rapid ascent began when she won the ILUVLIVE Open Mic in February 2013, impressing a crowd of fans and professionals, including Emeli Sandé and Naughty Boy. ILUVLIVE was so impressed that their label released her debut EP, which hit #3 on the iTunes Soul and RnB Chart.

She then got some serious radio backing from Fearne Cotton, Trevor Nelson, and Sarah Jane Crawford and, later, famed tastemaker Zane Lowe, who made Izzy’s ‘White Tiger’ his “Next Hype” track.

An accomplished live performer, she’s supported superstar Sam Smith, Milky Chance, and Jamie Cullum, who personally chose her to open for him at his huge Roundhouse show in London. Izzy penned a record contract with the colossal Epic Records in August 2014, subsequently giving an astonishing performance on Jools Holland and supporting both Rudimental and Foxes on their UK tours. On top of this, the singer was shortlisted for the Brits Critics’ Choice Award, narrowly missing out to BIMM Brighton graduate James Bay.

Izzy’s rendition of Edith Piaf’s ‘La Foule’ became the theme for the BBC’s coverage of the Euro 2016 competition.

Her album, A Moment of Madness, reached 23 in the UK charts and received critical acclaim. She has since released an EP titled ‘Glita’, and the 2020 single ‘Faded’. She currently boasts over a million monthly listeners on Spotify.
