Session Guitarist
BIMM Music Institute London graduate Isabel is a session guitarist and educator. One of her main session roles is as a touring guitarist with songwriter and Columbia signee Declan McKenna.
On her arrival to study at BIMM Music Institute London, Isabel’s musical CV was already impressive, as she’d achieved a degree of success in her home town of Porto before applying to study. Her exceptional guitar playing had earned her performance experiences on various Portuguese television channels such as Porto Canal, TVI, RTP and SIC.
The BMus (Hons) in Popular Music Performance course helped to further improve her playing abilities and establish yet more industry connections. With a strong work ethic and magnetic stage presence, it wasn’t long before she was playing sessions supporting the likes of Foals, Cage The Elephant, Norah Jones and Bastille.
Her performance experience in the UK includes appearances on Later…With Jools Holland, BBC Live Lounge, Maida Vale, VEVO and the NME Awards and most recently, a performance on The Ellen Show playing the guitar for fellow BIMM student graduate Mimi Webb, plus she’s appeared on some of the biggest festival stages around, including Glastonbury, Lollapalooza and SummerSonic.
Aside from her busy session schedule, Isabel is also an avid guitar tutor, making herself available via Skype and one-to-one sessions. So, if you’re looking to improve your skills, get in touch. She’s endorsed by some huge names including PRS, Boss and Roland.
