Gemma Bradley, who attended BIMM Dublin, is a pop and R’n’B vocalist whose eclectic sound has enthralled both Irish and UK audiences. Now, she is also known for her presenting and DJ skillsin 2021, she became the face of BBC Introducing.

Gemma released her first single in 2018 and in the same year was crowned the winner of Dublin’s Christie Hennessy Songwriting Prize. In 2020, she was part of Ireland Music Week’s Online Showcase and featured on the Glastonbury Emerging Talent Longlist.  

Her music has received lots of love from national radio, as well as from across the pond on WPPM in Philadelphia. In terms of live performances, she’s played a whole host of festivals, including Electric Picnic, Stendhal, and Vantastival.  

In 2022, Gemma started hosting a monthly music event called Whiplash, which took place at Courtyard Theatre in London. The lineup featured talented musicians from across the musical spectrum, including Cat Burns, Swim School, MIYA MIYA, and Ellie Dixon, to name a few. 

Her radio career began with a presenting slot on BBC Radio Ulster, and less than a year later she joined the BBC Radio 1 family on BBC Introducing. These days, she’s back on BBC Radio Ulster hosting ATL Introducing, leading the hunt for new Irish musical talent.  

When asked about her time studying at BIMM Music Institute Dublin, she added: “BIMM taught me a lot, especially when it comes to songwriting, music business and of course networking, which is all really important! BIMM really helped shape me as a musician and as a young creative, and I believe I wouldn’t be where I am now if I hadn’t attended.”
